Stopped here for lunch yesterday while driving from Denver to San Diego. The service was good and friendly. The place was clean, a 1950's type diner. I ordered a BLT with avocado and O-rings. The BLT was excellent, but had a bit too much mayo for me. I had forgotten to specify easy on the mayo, which was my fault, but even so, it was a bit too heavy on the mayo anyway. The O-rings were pretty standard and were tasty. I would go back again, for sure. The other food I saw go by all looked great, and they do fresh made shakes as well.

If you looking for a greasy old burger, this is the place. Nothing fancy just a little diner. I do find it funny they have a sign that says be nice or leave but yet the staff not so friendly.

Ok so I wanted to like this place but nah. Cool diner but the food lacked that homemade taste with more like outtadacan taste. Pretty sure the salsa was Pace Picante and the green chili was DelMonte Diced Green Chili (hint - use jalapeños). $50 bucks later not my mamma's cooking.

The food was pretty good with nice sized servings. The pricing is much lower than other places around which made it even better. The service was lacking. We had to ask for more coffee and water as our waitress seemed to forget that we were there.

We were really lucky to find this place when traveling out of the Glenwood Springs. It is a small diner that delivers great food at a reasonable price. It isn't super fancy but it hit the spot. Would we stop here again, absolutely, if we are in the mood for some greasy spoon at a great price.

Okay. First of all, it's an old greasy spoon. Probably been here forever, and has sassy old waitresses who have definitely been here longer than you've been yelping. So be respectful. We sat at the bar and everything was very quick and we got our food really quick too. Felt a little pushy in fact, probably from all the reviews complaining about slow service. Anyway, I do reviews for the food. And I liked my coffee, half turkey sandwich with green chillies and the tomato soup. My boyfriend had the dish with potatoes, salsa eggs and cheese and really enjoyed it as well. I would come back for sure. Good place off the beaten path of Glenwood Springs and they have booze too. If you want something newer and fancier go downtown

Plan and simple dinner.... Good food, fast, and friendly!

Beyond hanging with friendly locals and old time diner setup there is no reason to eat here. Food seems to come from non-brand grocery store shelf. I ordered a biscuit but received a pedestrian dinner roll that was confirmed as their biscuit accompanied by Promise margarine. Eggs over cooked, hard tasteless potato chunks. Coffee tasteless. Received wrong order in mostly empty diner. Food on floor, dirty bathroom. Normally love a good greasy spoon - how do you get breakfast so wrong and stay in business?

Stopped in for dinner with family after a long drive. The BBQ pulled pork was great as were the pork ribs. The Baja salad with chicken was simple fresh and yummy. Tried peach cobbler a la mode and a butterscotch Sunday for dessert. Dessert hit the spot. The owner came out and greeted us. Friendly service, tasty fresh home made food, and reasonable prices. We will definitely make this a stop when in Glenwood Springs.

We liked it here. I wouldn't say it is the best food we've ever had but it's decent and serves the purpose. The patty melt was very good. The house salad is good with carrots, cabbage tomatoes cucumbers lettuce. The hot turkey sandwich seemed decent. Service staff is efficient, and pleasant. What more can you ask for??! We had a nice day fly fishing. And hiking to the Doc Holliday cemetery. Nice views.

Stopped here for breakfast one morning during a recent road trip. We had spent the night at the Denver Hotel in Glenwood Springs (great room) and I made a stop at 19th St diner. The older woman at the door behind the counter was a little salty, but I was hungry and not there to make friends. The waitress behind the counter was nice. I ordered a western omlette with homefries and coffee. While waiting for our food to go, we listened to some oldies and sipped some coffee.Breakfast arrived...the homefries were real potatoes cooked with onions and were delicious! Omlette was very good too. Breakfast hit the spot. I would definitely repeat if I'm ever in town again.

Food is super good. French toast is rediculous and the pancakes are legit!! The waitress is a bit nutty though as its a small town so everyone knows everyone.

Awesome place to stop in, specifically the bar in the back. We went in the winter time to get dinner, it wasn't busy. Our food was awesome, service was great and the beer was cold. I would say it is standard diner food so leaner choices are limited. I got a salad with chicken and joe got a burger, both were great! Big modern TV screens to watch sports if you are into that too! I liked it. You can order food from the bar side and not just drinks. Very nice, I would visit again.

This is a cool little diner. All they play is 60's music keeping with the theme. Upon entering you are greeted immediately. And this day it was a steady stream of customers so I chose to sit at the bar. And FYI their is a Rear Bar as well. I guess in the back. I ordered a Large OJ. The Full order of French toast and a side of Sausage. The French Toast seemed to be dipped in a crunchy Honey batter. Thats What Ill assume it was. Crunchy on the outside. Moist and delicious on the inside. 2 pieces of sausage on the side. And it seemed to be fresh house made sausage, by the texture and the shape. The kitchen is small. And some people complain about that. I could see a little of a wait if they really get slammed. The food is worth the wait in my book. Delicious all the way around.

Food is good for a diner. Kitchen is SLOW!! Wait staff was attentive and apologetic, but we still waited 30 minutes for breakfast. Seemed like other patrons did too. Don't go of you are in a rush!

My second trip with a large-ish group and it was excellent again this time. The green chili is top-notch; the staff is friendly and ambiance is fun. Give it a shot if you're in the area.

We hit up 19th Street Diner on our way back from the X-games. We were anxious to get home but really needed something before the 2 hour drive. Well...we ended up getting home much later because we didn't anticipate waiting over 45 minutes for simple bacon, eggs and toast. At one point everyone sitting in the restaurant was without food in front of them. The deep friend french toast was awesome, but again, not worth 45 minutes. The service is slow and the restaurant seems to have some major efficiency problems going on.

I can't stay away from this place. Once again, we ate there twice on our annual Glenwood Springs vacation - this time once for breakfast and once for lunch. Much better experience overall than we had in 2012. Delicious breakfasts, served quickly and cooked well (my oldest son especially liked their fried french toast, while my youngest thought their scrambled eggs were "the best"). Good lunches as well - my patty melt was cooked perfectly (but not dried out) and certainly not greasy. Everything else was solid. Super friendly service and a cool vibe. Really, you should give this place a try.

Reminds me of a New Jersey diner. 50s music, seasoned waitress, a counter to sit at. Perfect place To grab breakfast before a hike or your way to the slopes.

I tried to find a way to give this restaurant more than one star, but there is no possible way because our entire experience was way way sub par. The service was rude, acted annoyed and really she didn't want to work. She also didn't sell the food, she was dirty and just looked like she spent more time eating and gossiping with locals than working. We should have walked out then and there, the place was mediocre in every way possible, not well cleaned, and the food was very bland, over cooked, and tasted burned. Nobody liked their meal in our family and we all left half a plate of food unfinished, my husband had a hair in his sandwich which ruined his experience. Super greasy, and just not worth the $, you can tell it comes from a dirty kitchen, especially when you look behind the counter, even the bathroom was dirty and gross too. Ewwwwe!

Stopped by here on our way out of town on Thanksgiving weekend. We were quite underwhelmed with the food. Maybe it started when we walked in the back bar entrance and the bartender looked at us and said nothing. So we walked to the front where we stood yet again with no acknowledgement. Then a friendly girl told us to sit where we like. The menu looked good, lots to choose from. We ordered the eggs benedict, french toast and biscuits and gravy. I'll start with the good- eggs benedict were really good! The hollandaise was a bit tangy but we really liked it. And the French Toast was great also- deep fried and soft on the inside. The biscuits and gravy, however, were not good. The gravy had a lot of sage, rosemary or thyme or a combination of the three because it tasted like Thanksgiving gravy. Not at all like country gravy, although it was thick and white but lacking on the sausage. Service from there on out was spotty, I had to ask for two coffee refills. (Their coffee is extremely weak, but it's a diner so it's expected.) Overall, we might be back, but only if we're staying next door.

Awesome food! Friendly service! Lots of locals. This is the place to be any Sunday. Best bloody Mary's, sports. We love it family friendly, kids love the milk shakes. Can you tell I really like this place???

Stopped in here on our trip to Glenwood Springs. When we walked in the place was cute and quaint. Really had the old school diner feel to it. We ordered the "Build a better burger"! It was awesome! They cooked it just right! Our appetizer of fried mushrooms was awesome too! Really friendly and really reasonable overall! If you ever stop by here, it is a good place for sure!

When we walked in it did not look clean and it was not well lit. We opted not to order dinner but instead just ordered dessert. The vanilla shake and brownie sundae were good.

We were hungry for breakfast and have decided that on our travels we would try to eat at local restaurants rather than the usual national chains. We arrived and were told just to sit anywhere. We waited and waited for water, ordered coffee and waited and waited. Finally got coffee and ordered our meals. A local came in about 15 min after we did and sat at the table next to us. The owner/ or long time waitress who obviously knew the regulars waited on him, and while we waited and waited for our order, he was served his meal. He was almost finished when we decided to leave. It had been some 30 or 40 minutes, so we walked out the door. The "head" waitress came running after us as we were backing out of the narrow parking space and said our meal was ready, and we told her it was too late and we were so upset about waiting we weren't hungry anymore, and drove off. We ended up going to Village Inn and had a really GREAT breakfast at great specials price.

I've eaten here several times, it's decent food and service. Breakfast was the best of the meal times. I've never had to wait too long. They were not very busy for dinner.

The 19th Street Diner scratched me right where I itched. Passing through Glenwood Springs on a VERY long cross-country road trip, I was in need of some good food and good service. I found both. I had the Patty Melt and a cup of soup, which was Caribbean Stew that day. The wife had a Turkey Reuben. Both were excellent. The rye toast was delicious, the burger was juicy, and the stew was great! We sat at the counter and had plenty of good banter with the staff. They were funny and attentive. I will definitely stop through here again!

Came here for breakfast before heading to the lifts. I wanted something that would fill me up for the day and this place didn't exactly meet my expectations. I had corn beef hash and eggs with some toast. Everything was slightly cold when I got it and the corn beef hash had a strange after taste. My aunts food was also a little cold and she didn't end up finishing most of it. I'm giving it 2 stars instead of one because the service was good and the music that they were playing was also good.

Pleasant little diner. Service was on the slow side, but not terrible. I had the shrimp basket, which was fine. Next time, I'd try the club sandwich (my neighbors' looked great). Good/fun place for families and decent prices.

If you have just eaten and aren't hungry, then by all means visit the 19th St Diner. On a recent trip to Glenwood for a long weekend, the hubby and I decided to expand our horizons and try a few places we had not been to prior. This unfortunately included the 19th Street Diner. As we drove up the place looked cute but once we parked a block or so away as the parking situation is a bit sketchy (several signs dictating which spots are for which businesses and very few lines to determine where the spots actually are) we noticed it looks a little shabby upon closer examination. We popped in and there wasn't a sign saying if we should wait or just seat ourselves. Eventually the waitress came by and said "just sit" a bit gruffly. We found a spot and figured she was just cranky due to the busy morning. The busser popped over and asked what we wanted to drink and offered $4 bloody marys. The hubby ordered one of these and I decided on water. She returned with the drinks quickly and yet we still didn't have menus. The hubby reported that his bloody mary seemed to just be tomato juice with a celery stick and maybe the tiniest whiff of vodka. Finally the waitress came with menus. As I decided what I wanted I noticed everyone in the restaurant looked grumpy. In fact the table nearest us was just getting their food and yet they looked super strained. I shrugged it off and ordered the "Diner Delight" which was basically a skillet of potatoes with scrambled eggs atop and cheese. It comes with a side of toast or biscuit. When I asked about substituting something less starchy the waitress essentially said "no." Then the waiting began. I watched the kitchen staff which included two people at the grill and one manager looking fellow who would put plates together and call for waitstaff to pick up. He seemed to be doing very little of this for most of the time we were there. There were several lulls in which no food was coming out. Often the waitresses vanished all together for long stretches. Finally plates started showing up and we watched sadly as one party that had been there long before us got all of them. It would seem the kitchen would do one order at a time and had almost nothing prepped. We arrived at 11 am and the place was packed but with people who had clearly been there for quite a while waiting. We waited 25 minutes before we could catch the waitress again and ask when we should expect our food. She informed us that our ticket was behind a large group and it might be 10 or so minutes. As it seemed that most orders were taking 10 or more minutes just for a party of 4. The hubby pressed for details but soon realized we weren't getting food any time soon. He tossed down $4 and we left starving. Foodwise I can't comment honestly. That said I did see the cook drop something, look at it, and then clearly pick it up and put it back on a plate. So I kinda doubt it. Waiting time is ridiculous. It's diner fair! I've been in huge packed places and received my food in under 10 minutes. I'm not sure what this place is doing wrong it was really little and yet can't seem to serve food quickly. Bloody Mary: awful
